Frieza is Back!

Dragon Ball - Christian Lovera

Dragon Ball

No one can ignore how influential anime has become. Every person in the planet surely knows about it and even can name his or her top 5 animes. Some favor classics like Saint Seiya or Evangelion and even maybe Pokemon, but there is one thing for sure in each of those list. Any anime fan will surely rank Dragon Ball as one of its favourite animes of all time, and how could they not? Every 90’s kid was sure to be a huge Dragon Ball fan. We all remember how excited we were when we got home from school and tune in the new Dragon Ball episode on Cartoon Network, or any other channel, and just sit there amazed by the skills of Goku and company. And now, as adults, just as we were ready to grow up and leave Dragon Ball in the past we find out that a new movie about Frieza, fan favourite villain, is coming to America. Forget about growing up! Time to go super saiyan about these news!

In 2013 we were greeted with a Dragon Ball Z movie called “Battle of the Gods“, which was the first movie to be supervised by Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball universe. The movie was a success as fans all over the world rejoiced about having new adventures from their favourite warriors. Two years later no one could predict that fans would be greeted with yet another Dragon Ball movie, supervised yet again by Akira Toriyama. We feel so spoiled, but so good.

The events of the movie happen some time after the previous Battle of the Gods movie (both movies are canon in the Z storyline by the way) and everyone lives in peace, but of course, peace is something very shortlived. Just when the warriors thought that earth and the universe were safe from any villain set on destruction Frieza comes back for revenge and stronger than ever.

To try and not give away much of the plot, so you can enjoy it to the fullest, we will just say that Frieza has a bone to pick with the Z warriors, especially our boy Goku, and also take over Earth, because why not.

There is some plot details we can share because we are sure they are already public domain. We have all seen the latest Frieza transformation, like he wasn’t a dangerous threat before, this time he transforms into Golden Frieza, much like a super saiyan, and you can bet his power will be even greater than before.

Dragon Ball

Frieza became so powerful than Goku’s current strenght may not be enough. Time to ascend to yet another super saiyan form. Last movie we were greated to super saiyan god, another level of power which turned out to be amazing, but now Goku seems to have achieved super saiyan god 2. Will it be enough?

We can hardly wait to see our childhood heroes back to save the universe from the villanous Frieza. Nothing a Kame Hame Ha can’t fix.

Can Shrek Survive His Wife’s Family?

When talking about animated movies severeal pieces of art come to mind. We have movies like Finding Nemo, which was very well received by the audience and has a sequel in works, and we have the most recent animated blockbuster Frozen, which did very well beyond anyone’s expectations. All of these animated movies are truly great, no questioning that, but there is one franchise that stand above alkl the other ones, Shrek. Shrek 2 keeps all the elements from the first one and brought a whole lot more in order to make a movie that truly does the first one justice and stands as one of the best sequels in the film industry. Let’s check it out.

Shrek 2 - Christian Lovera

Shrek 2

Shrek managed to get the girl and the end of the first movie and thought that all his woes were over. He had married the girl of his dreams,Princess Fiona, and went on a lovely honeymoon to celebrate their love, everything was good and well until they decided to go back to their swamp and begin their new life together. Turns out Fiona’s parents heard the news of her marriage and wish to have the newlyweds over to meet their son in law, quite the surprise they will get.

Shrek agrees to meet Fiona’s parent but knows it will end in disaster once they see they are both ogres. The parents are of course shocked to see their daughter is still an ogre after breaking the curse but decided to make the best of the situation, that is until tensions rise between Fiona’s dad and Shrek. Shrek decides he has had enough and wants to leave but Fiona wants to stay and reminds him on all she sacrificed in order to be with him, which would be taking the shape of an ogre.

Shrek then tries to find a way to make it up to Fiona by looking for a potion for them to be human, so they will be able to live a normal life with her parents. The potion, however, was all part of a trap setup by the Fairy Godmother in order to make human Fiona fall in love with her son,Charming, so that he would be king someday. Learning of this Shrek rushes back to Fiona, who is surprised to be human again.

Charming claims to be the human Shrek in order to trick Fiona into drinking a love potion to make her fall in love with him. Shrek arrives just in time to stop the farse and a battle ensues between Shrek and friends against Charming and his mother. Shrek wins and gives Fiona a choice, if they drink a potion that Shrek bought they can live forever as humans. Fiona choose to remain an ogre because their love goes beyond their physical appearance.

Once again the Shrek movies teaches us that love comes in many shapes and sizes. Unconventional love stories will always be the ones that resonate the most with audiences, that is the true charm that makes people continue to watch these movies to this day.

Independent film industry is something that probably not everybody knows or at least has a little knowledge about it. However, since many years ago, the independent movies and directors are having their spot in the cinemas of the whole world. Independent Film Is Going To Have Its Own Fest

New York is a city that has anything you could need, or at least, that is what it seems to be. There are a lot of options for you to do. Lots of movies have NYC as its main place to develop a story, it does not matter if it is about the end of the world or related to a love story or something. The real fact is that as New York City is that one of the most important places for the movie industry and, besides, the independent film market also has lots of things to give in this place, NYC will have on September an independent film week.

Independent Filmmaker Project is an organization based in the United States of America that basically support, produce and create everyhintg related to the independent film industry, that is why this organization decided to create and subsequently do something that could be only about the market of the independent films. What the creators thought it could be better to do so was having a week, just like the Fashion Week, for example, but this time it is about movies and its directors and producers.

Filmmaker ConferencesProject Forumsmovies and more are about to be shown this week that starts on September, 2014. The idea is that this week can work as a teaching experience for all those people that is just beginning in thuis complicated, but lovely and incredible industry.
